Embedding a personal librarian in Blackboard provides your students with convenient access to research and citation information and assistance directly through the course shell. Depending on your preference, and your students' needs, the embedded librarian could share their contact information, could post general tips and helps for research, or could develop and post guides targeted to a specific research project assigned in your course.
It is important to note that embedded librarians will not change or modify the course information and modules that you have worked hard to develop, nor do they have access to your gradebook.
Follow the steps below to embed a personal librarian in your Blackboard course.
- Contact your Subject Area Specialist/Librarian to discuss your needs and expectations for the course. We love hearing from you!
- Navigate to the Information Technology Services (ITS) Client Portal and sign in with your NSU credentials (top right of the page).
- Select "Services" from the black menu bar beneath the NSU logo.
- Choose the "Applications and Systems" option.
- Under the "Services" heading, select "Blackboard".
