To search for books, visit our library homepage and click the "Books & Media" tab on the search bar and search for books by keyword, title, or author. Select the orange magnifying glass icon to initiate a search.

Once you begin searching, on the left, you can limit your search to print books and/or specify which campus to search (Broken Arrow Campus or John Vaughan Library, Tahlequah Campus).

Beneath the item's title and summary, the catalog will indicate if a book is available and where it is located, including campus, collection, and call number. There will be a green check mark if it's available, state which campus it's available at, including the collection it resides in, and the call number.

To locate books, the NSU Libraries use The Library of Congress Classification System for the following collections:
John Vaughan Library, Tahlequah Campus:
- Curriculum Materials (circulating collection, 2nd floor)
- Main Collection (circulating collection, 3rd floor)
- Periodicals (non-circulating collection, 2nd floor)
- Reference Collection (non-circulating collection, 1st floor)
- Special Collections (non-circulating collection, 1st floor)
Broken Arrow Campus:
- Stacks (circulating collection, 2nd floor)
- Reference (non-circulating collection, 2nd floor)
- Periodicals (non-circulating collection, 2nd floor)
This organizational system uses a combination of letters and numbers to shelf items according to the same subject. The Library of Congress is organized alphabetically, followed by numerical arrangement by call number. For more information about The Library of Congress, visit their website.
