What is the difference between Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Document Delivery (DD)?

Interlibrary Loan:

• Obtains materials from institutions other than NSU.
• Loan period is determined by the lending library and may be limited.
• Renewals are granted at the discretion of the lending library.
• May take as little as 2 days (articles/digital content) or up to 2-3 weeks (physical items) depending on item and availability.

Document Delivery:

• Provides intra- and inter-campus delivery of materials held at one of the NSU libraries.
• Items circulate according to NSU loan policies.
• Most items can be renewed per standard renewal policies.
• Materials are usually received within 3 working days.
