The rules for laptop fees can be found on our Laptop and Portable Charging Station Borrowing Form available to view under the 'Computers in the Library' section at https://library.nsuok.edu/services/index. The major rules for late, lost, or damaged laptops are:

  • Laptops may be checked out for a period of one month, after which they must be returned to the NSU Libraries.
  • Should a laptop be kept longer than the allotted month, a $25 fee will be applied to the account. An additional $10 will be charged every following week until the laptop is returned.
  • Students who have allowed a laptop to become 7 days or more overdue a total of 3 times, or have allowed a laptop to become 30 days or more overdue and failed to respond to contact attempts, will be banned from further laptop lending.
  • Should the patron fail to return the laptop within 16 days or fail to respond to contact attempts, Campus Police will be notified to collect the laptop.
  • The replacement fee for a lost or damaged laptop is $1,250. Should a laptop become damaged or lost, please contact the NSU Library as soon as possible.

In cases of debilitating illness or other emergency circumstances, a late fee may be waived at the discretion of the NSU Library's administration. Communicating such an incident to the library as soon as reasonably possible may increase the possibility of a fee being waived. Supporting documentation, such as a doctor's note, may also be requested. Policies may differ for Broken Arrow, please reach out to our BA branch for further details.
