Open Educational Resources (OER) are instructional, research, and learning materials that are created and licensed to be released freely and publicly accessible. Users are authorized to customize OER by adapting, revising, remixing and redistributing them as needed. OER are typically available through open access and online platforms, except in cases where they are distributed in print or other analog formats, such as printed versions of open textbooks. Scholarly books and articles may also qualify as OER if released under a license which qualifies as OER.
